Original United Artists Six Sheet Poster for the George Dunning animation comedy, YELLOW SUBMARINE (1968) starring The Beatles, Paul Angelis, John Clive, and Dick Emery. Over 50 years later, this film is still colorful, clever, and particularly innovative. After making A HARD DAYS NIGHT (1964) and HELP! (1965), the Beatles owed United Artists two additional films on their contract As they weren't really enthused about the stand-around-and-wait of filmmaking, they were more than happy to let this animated film fulfill part of their contract. Who knows if any of the Fab Four even had any idea how charming this film would be. But audiences loved it, and YELLOW SUBMARINE was perceived as one more huge success for The Beatles. Never mind that the film was, of course, the result of clever idea men like Duning and writer Lee Minoff - and a host of brilliant animators working under the formidable talent of Heinz Edelmann. This six sheet poster is in very fine condition. Six sheet posters are printed, generally, on four different panels which are joined together to present as one large poster.
