1939 U.S. one sheet 27" x 41"
(plus approx. half-inch all-round border.)
Professionally linen backed which is a process where the poster has been deacidified and then placed on top of a sheet of acid-free rice paper, which is in turn mounted onto cotton duct (due to the high cost of real linen it is rarely used today).
Linen backing is a conservation process particularly useful for higher value and older items. There has been some restoration work performed on these posters, such as removing of foldlines.
Please note that although backed this poster shows signs of wear, like most 80 year olds.
The foldlines are visible and there is some light staining,, particularly round the edges and most noticeable on the right side (see photo).
It still presents quite well though, and the lithographic image has a soft, romantic appeal.
It is priced according to condition, and is good value for an original poster of this age.
