RARE - SF Era Tom Kuhn No Jive Filagree Mandala 3-in-1 Yo-Yo in box - RARE
The Tom Kuhn No Jive Filagree Mandala 3-in-1 Yo-Yo was designed and released in 1978 by Tom Kuhn. It is one of three initial mandala designs (the others being the Snowflake and the Starburst), and is often considered to be the most beautiful and intricate of the mandala designs. Tom Kuhn's wooden take-apart 3-in-1 yo-yos are considered to be the most influential yo-yos of the 20th century and the San Francisco era No Jives are a highly sought after collectible.
You are bidding on a RARE San Francisco era Tom Kuhn Filagree Mandala 3-in-1 Yo-yo in its original box with Genuine Tom Kuhn Custom Yo Yo String, two extra axles and the Pumping Wood pamphlet  The SF era No Jives tend to have a slightly steeper outer profile which makes them “feel” thinner, but they have a more flared opening at the gap (which is why most older players prefer early TK for looping and generally in classic orientation). The purple box was the first branded box from Tom Kuhn to feature its patent number and was released in the 80s when Tom Kuhn received the patent for the 3-in-1 yo-yo.
The box shows some wear but is in decent shape for being over 40 years old. The yo-yo is in good shape for it’s age. It has a beautiful and even finish with a few minor dings and blemishes on the rim from play (see photos). Bid on this rare No Jive today and enjoy this rare piece of yo-yo history.
