Antique Brass & Iron Military Field Snare Drum Marked WPZ 1864 1319
We have acquired what is believed to be an 1864 Military Snare
Drum
from the Netherlands.
It may have belonged to the Central Royal Military Band of the Netherlands Army, Royal Netherlands Military House, Music Corps.
The
drum
is marked WPZ, Willem Pauwels En Zoon, who appear to have been Dutch manufacturers to the Royal Suppliers of Z.M. de Koning's Hage.
This
drum
is approximately 15.5 inches in diameter and made of brass and mixed metals.  It is stamped, 1864 and 1319.
