    CASTLE
    of
    DREAMS
    designed by David Dowler 1986
A safe haven for the serious collector, consider this faceted complex signed Steuben
Castle of Dreams, new in vintage Red Leather Box with original display base.
Rainbows of light are refracted by the diamond cut and polished surfaces painstakingly carved from a solid block of crystal some smooth and other's frosted. A large fortress with tower (the keep) is protected with crenelated battlements on a massive clear crystal foundation. This very heavy Castle is a marvelous masterwork.  A superlative gift for the special birthday, anniversary
or just to say "I LOVE YOU!!"  (do you need an excuse to add to your Steuben collection??)
    The
    Steuben Castle of Dreams
measures approx. 6" tall by 11" wide.  It is very heavy at
    approx
    .
    18lbs
in display box--it is correctly signed in diamond point script.  This
    Castle of Dreams
is new in box with no chips, nicks, damage or scratches to the glass or display wear on the bottom with a good condition vintage red leather box (some scuffing to the lid), the box designed for Steuben Masterworks, it also includes the original display base of black leather.
A very fair buy it now price for this new in box Steuben masterwork.  You will be thrilled with this piece.
Steuben Glass was the premier American glass company founded by Frederick Carder in 1903. It ranked as the world's foremost artisan glass house. Steuben glass, handmade by American craftsmen at the works in Corning NY, was frequently the United States' gift of State to foreign dignitaries. Steuben marketed no "seconds". Items that did not meet their exacting standards were destroyed by being smashed in a bin. Steuben, a luxury brand and the ultimate in art glass.  Since the glassworks closing in 2011 during the recent recession, it has been increasingly difficult to find collector worthy examples like this piece.  This is a design that will hold or increase in value if it is handled with care and properly maintained.
Please email me if you have any questions.  Thank you for considering this piece and please see my other Steuben listed on
