designs.  Each a beautiful sculpture in original* water pure made in USA Steuben formula crystal, each with details that glisten and reflect the light.  Perfect for a special birthday, anniversary gift, the

or the collector. (Note all authentic Steuben shell designs are clear crystal, none are frosted glass.)
This wonderful Shell set has the brilliant clarity that is a hallmark of authentic Steuben.  The Scallop shell is approx. 4" in diameter, the swirled Gmelin is about 3" in diameter, the Starfish is approx. 6" from side to side and the very rare Terebra is just over 4" long.  Each shell is
new, with no chips, no cracks, no scratches and NO signs of display or base bottom wear,
each is correctly signed "Steuben" in diamond point script.  These will come packed in vintage original fine Steuben gift box, each in it's matching flannel storage bag and Steuben Care booklet.

Steuben Glass was founded by Frederick Carder in 1903. It was the world's foremost artisan glass house. Steuben was hand made by American craftsmen at the works in Corning NY.  Because it was hand made, each piece is unique.  Steuben glass was frequently the United States’ gift of State to foreign dignitaries. Steuben marketed no “seconds.”  Items that did not meet their exacting production standards were destroyed by being smashed in a bin. Steuben--a recognized luxury brand.

scratch free and were made by hand in the USA of
original formula water pure Steuben Crystal (unlike some of their more recent shell designs that were outsourced to Portugal to cut costs--such as the Nautilus Shell which was machine pressed of a lower quality glass overseas.)
*Since Steuben closed in late 2011 it has become almost impossible to find scratch free gift worthy examples of this wonderful special
original formula optically pure
art glass. Later shell designs, such as the Nautilus shell were outsourced to Europe and not made of the special patented highly refractive Steuben formula that was only used in the USA made pieces.  The outsourced designs were not hand signed.
